Privacy
WideEye is designed to view images on your Mac. It does not collect, transmit, or share any information about you, your files, or your usage.
What WideEye does not collect
- No personal information
- No usage analytics or telemetry
- No crash reports sent automatically
- No file contents, file names, or folder paths
- No image metadata (EXIF is read locally and shown only on screen)
- No identifiers, advertising IDs, or device fingerprints
Network access
WideEye does not make network requests. It has no built-in update mechanism, no sign-in, no remote configuration. The app functions entirely offline.
What is stored locally
WideEye saves a small amount of data on your Mac, in your user account's standard preferences storage (UserDefaults):
- Your settings (layout default, slideshow interval, wrap-around preference, etc.)
- The window's last size and position
WideEye does not save the folder you last viewed, which images you opened, or any history of your activity. The app is incognito by design — close the window and the content state is gone.
Children
WideEye is rated 4+ and is suitable for all ages. Because it collects no information of any kind, it complies with COPPA and similar regulations by default.
Third parties
WideEye does not integrate with any third-party services, SDKs, advertising networks, or analytics providers.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date. Because WideEye does not collect data, any change will only ever be in the direction of further clarification.
